Capcom To Explore The Idea Of More Remakes After Resident Evil 2

At E3 2018 One of Capcom's biggest announcements was that the Resident Evil 2 remake would release in January 2019. Recently Resident Evil 2 developers mentioned they’re going to be making more remakes and re-releases in the future in their quarterly earnings call.

The report notes, "Further, regarding remakes and re-releases of titles in our back catalog, we expect to explore these further with a variety of properties as a part of our strategy to utilize our library of IP."

Capcom’s most recent financial report boasts a great deal of confidence in the horror survival game. The company mentioned that Resident Evil 2 is expected to be ‘million-seller,’ and was given a budget to fulfill that intention. Makes sense, the game looks really amazing with what we’ve seen of so far.

Sadly, the company didn’t state which of its “variety of properties” it was looking at exploring further, but the idea that Capcom could bring some beloved classics to new light with either a new coat of paint—or a new coat entirely—is enticing. What game would you want to see Capcom pull out for a full Resident Evil 2-style remake?
